TANKMEN is a popular series created by Newground's moderator and staff member Johnny Utah. It is set in a post-apocalyptic time, 20XX, with the survivors being random factions of warriors, the tankmen. They are generally immature and stupid, which is what makes the series appeal to most.

The first TANKMEN was created June 3, 2006 and was instantly popular. It had a long run at the #1 spot of the Newgrounds top 50 list, the only site it is officialy hosted on.
[edit] Major Character
Sgt. John Captain- The main character of the TANKMEN series. He has appeared in TANKMEN 1 and 2, plus briefly in 1.5, was a charcter in "Newgrounds Rumble" and is shown many times on Newgrounds. Sgt. John is known for his "Cock Jokes".
Private Steve- Steve has appeared in TANKMEN 1 and 2, and briefly in 1.5. He knows how to opperate the tank and is the more serious of the group. He is also very clumsy and loses the tank in TANKMEN 1.
Private Skittles- Private Skittles is a sniper and the main character in TANKMEN 1.5. In 1.5 his father annoys him while he is on duty. Private Skittles hates being a sniper because he "Cannot handle man to man combat". In Tankmen 2 his sniper tower is destroyed when John and Steve are being chased. Private Skittles is the one who killed Bill.
Evil Captain and Private-These unnamed characters are the main enemys of John and Steve. They appeared in TANKMEN 1 and 1.5. One is very serious as the other is very clumsy.
Three Unknown Tankmen- These guys appeared in TANKMEN 2 as the main antagonist. They wear sports equipment and speak in a heavy Australian accent. They get in a fight with Steve and chase him through the TANKMEN world.

Bill- Bill is the Tankman who is sniped by Private Skittles. Bill has been mentioned in all 3 episodes so far.
Ted- Ted is a sniper who wears his night vision goggles during the day. Ted's name was mentioned by Johnnyutah in a userpage post.

A huge number of parodies have been made. The first of which Johnny Utah thought to be too un-funny to be considered a parody, so much so that he created his own parodying the parody, entitled TANKMEN THREE!!!

Johny Utah has shown definite interest in carrying on the series. It continues to be one of the most popular series on Newgrounds, and it even now has its own merchandise. Tankman has also become a major mascot of Newgrounds.
