R. Wappin, (pronounced like the a in "apple," not WAHpin or WAYpin), is known for making animations that are mostly bizarre and happy-go-lucky in nature. So far, most of his work consists of music videos, although he has ambitious plans for many of his own flash projects, including his own series, "The Friggin Awesome Adventures of Mernkle." He is quite active in many flash based communities, including Newgrounds and AlbinoBlackSheep, and is also beginning his first year of study at Columbia College in Chicago, where he will be majoring in traditional animation.

Wappin spent the majority of this year working on his first major animation, Albuquerque: THE MOVIE, a music video for Weird Al's Albuquerque. It was finally released in November where it gained moderate success on Newgrounds, even achieving number 1 status in the Newgrounds top 50, if only for a short time. Before the year was out he released two more short shorts including Turkeys and Bye Bye Bunny, as well as An Story... which is SILLY.

This year began with the release of Hello, Fred the Beard, continuing the trend of bizarre music videos. Later came another Weird Al's Everything You Know Is Wrong and Lemon Demon's Bowling Alley Towards the end of the year he was also the winner of the first annual "Tournament of the Flash Artists" on AlbinoBlackSheep.
