The series began on 02/19/2002, when Krinkels submitted Marsh-Mellow-Madness to Newgrounds. It got a great response, and has made it's way into the Newgrounds portal history.

Madness Combat

The official Madness Combat series started when Krinkels submitted his next flash, simply titled "Madness Combat" around 5 months later. It did even better than the first, and so the Madness Combat series was continued. There are currently 7 madness combat episodes, with a huge number of parodies, fan movies and spoofs. An 8th installment is in production, a preview screen of which can be found on Krinkels Newgrounds blog.

Characters

Hank J. Wimbleton

Hank, the killer of Madness: Combat
Hank, the killer of Madness: Combat

The main character of Madness. In Madness Combat 1, he simply kills everyone as he wants to be the only one doing the Funky Chicken dance, however in Madness Redeemer he makes enemies, namely the sherrif, clown and jesus, and the series continues with him fighting them.

He is one of the only main characters who is mortal. If he takes damage, he goes down, unlike most of the other boss characters.

The Sheriff

This is the killers first target. Little is revealed about who he is, or why he is wanted dead by the killer. All that is shown is that his base is somewhere in Nevada, and he is distinguished from his goons by his bowler hat. He survives the rampage of Madness Redeemer, but is killed with a shotgun in Madness Avenger.

Tricky

Tricky the clown first appears in Madness: Redeemer, but only for a few seconds before he is killed. He returns in Madness: Avenger as a zombie, but the killer kills him with a stop sign. The clown then uses the stop sign as his weapon in later episodes. Tricky transforms into Uber-Tricky in Madness: Antipathy, and keeps this form as the main boss in Madness: Consternation (the latest installment.) However, he is killed by Jesus.

Jesus

The killers arch enemy, he appears in every madness episode from Madness: Redeemer, hunting the killer down. It is shown that Jesus probably works for the Sherrif/1337 squad, but shows no recognition for their wellbeing, as he often kills them if they get in the way of him and the killer. Jesus has the power to bring the dead back to life as zombies. He is shown defeating the killer in numerous episodes, but the killer is either brought back to life by something unknown, or returns with a visible wound. It has been rumoured that Jesus is the main character in the next Madness episode.
