[edit] Word up!

Cerebral is a 14 year animator who often types in a lingo that nobody ever uses, and frequently uses words that nobody has used since the nineties. He proclaims himself as a Flash artist, but he hasn't really made anything with effort since early 2006. He's also done some 3D stuff, and some horrible attempts at music.

[edit] 2003: Stop Motion. Oh dear God.

Cerebral first started making movies with a digital camera and some stuffed animals. They were a terrible attempt at stop motion, but then again, I guess you shouldn't expect quality to come out of a fifth grader without even any clay (and made in iMovie. He didn't even have Flash yet).

[edit] First Movie Ever.

The first movie he ever made was titled "Matrix Cheat." It was set on a ping-pong table, using a stuffed animal version of The Cheat from the website homestarrunner.com. It was a spoof of the scene from The Matrix Reloaded, in which Neo (the main character) fights off hundreds of Agents by himself in a quite cool fashion.

The "movie," in itself is absolutely awful. Despite the circumstances of his "production values" (see above), the movie somehow was able to be bad enough that Cerebral would be eternally ashamed for it to be on the internet.

Here are some reasons why:

- It was set at a whopping 2 fps.

- Every frame had a seizure inducing Ken Burns effect. (He didn't know how to turn it off).

- Cerebral didn't have a good microphone at the time, thus, he was forced to record all the voices through an iPod accesory. The quality was distorted and barely even understandable.

- While in the actual scene of the Matrix movie there are hundreds of agents, this movie only had two.

- The agents were ping-pong paddles.

- In almost every frame, either Cerebral or his sister (helping with the movie) is visible in the background or holding the ping-pong paddles/Cheat.

The movie was later remade. It was a substantial improvement, but still not great.

[edit] Other Stop Motion Movies

Cerebral later created many more stop motion movies, such as "A Bit of Violent Dialogue," "Flight of the Pheasant," and "Zombie Attack." He improved as time went on, but the only one that could even be considered to have the least bit of quality was "Flight of the Pheasant." Nevertheless, the humor in the movie was still awful.

In 2007, Cerebral made his best stop-motion movie to date. While it has no title, it can appropriately be referred to as "Recycling Bin gets Pwned." This was made for a group stop-motion showcase. It shows a regular class room desk sliding around a room, when it is confronted by a recycling bin. The desk proceeds to kick the recycling bin over, and moves along.

[edit] 2005: Flash Animation

Cerebral was first introduced to Flash when RichChap showed a bunch of people at school a totally awesome animation titled "Zeltrix" that he had made. The movie was essentially Link fighting Ganon in a Matrix style rumble. As it was one of his first Flashes ever, the quality of the animation is debatable, but at the time, everybody in the class thought it was the best thing ever. He taught Cerebral the basics of Flash, and he later went on to download the trial of Flash MX on his computer at home.

Cerebral made his first movie ever a few days later: Guy with Bomb. The movie consisted of a man picking up an armed bomb... And getting blown up in the process. This can be viewed here.

(Note: The fullscreen button DOES work, just not on the internet).

[edit] FlashMage

In 2005, Cerebral, Richchap, Tinkerbell, and Lax created a website. When we tried to come up with a name, the Final Fantasy obsessed Lax came up with FlashMage. To this day, Cerebral, Richchap, and Tinkerbell have no idea why they agreed to this name.

Each of the four had a select title:

Cerebral: Animator, website designer

Richchap: Artist and animator

Tinkerbell: Animator, website designer

Lax: "Artist and animator." Note: Lax was soon kicked out of the FlashMage clan after it was realized that he had no idea how to use Flash, nor did he even own a copy on his computer. He made absolutely no contributions whatsoever to the site, and his mandatory logo to be used on the site was a ripped Final Fantasy sprite. We also just plain hated him.

Some other contributors to the site were m0use, 008, and Fanarg.

Overall, the site was redesigned once, and was going to be redesigned a third time, but FlashMage ended when Tinkerbell stopped paying the bill for the domain. Plus, almost all the members had deviantArt, sheezyart, and newgrounds accounts by that time, so we could still watch each other's animations.

[edit] Projects

Neo's Story: My first long animation. It sucked. Badly. But I thought it was fairly decent at the time, and it had a working scene selection menu at the time, and that made me happy.

emp3world.com SUCKS: The only project I have ever completed besides Neo's Story. It was a parody of Alt4's "ebaumsworld.com sucks" flash. The same music in the animation was used, but with certain segments replaced with my voice in order to make the song more about emp3world. The issue was that at the time I did the voice recording I had a cold, and thus parts of the song were quite nasily. Overall, it didn't do too well on Newgrounds, but it passed judgment, and I still kind of like it.

The Events Leading Up to the Collapse of Detective Dullight: I've done about 3 seconds of this. But I will finish it some day.

Dave v2.0: A flash game based on something I don't want to explain. Again, this is still a work in progress, but it will be finished some day, even if it takes me years to do.

[edit] 2006: 3D

I began 3D modeling and animation in June 2006, when I got a copy of Swift 3D, a vector 3D application. I did a few pictures and animations, but I wasn't really into it until Tinkerbell (see FlashMage) introduced me to Blender. I now do much more 3D animating (even more than Flash) and am working on an animation titled "Spotlight."

Yeah.
